Master of International Affairs

 

The two-year full-time Master in International Affairs (MIA) programme furthers the school’s mission of educating current and future generations of leaders to improve the level of governance in Asia. The programme brings Asia’s role as a key influencer in world affairs to the forefront.

The MIA programme provides students with a strong foundation in both theoretical frameworks and practical knowledge of multi-disciplinary sub fields of international relations, together with an immersive experience in Asia.

Class Profile

The Master in International Affairs cohort comprises 30 students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, all with a keen interest in global affairs and Asia. All students must possess a good undergraduate degree – and most importantly, be passionate about contributing to positive transformation in Asia and beyond.

The Master of International Affairs program develops international affairs professionals who understand complex, transnational issues and can manage real-world organizations. Students acquire qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and the hands-on management skills required by leaders in the major fields of international affairs, as well as substantive knowledge of a policy concentration and demonstrated foreign language ability.

The MIA program is best suited for young professionals holding a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant work or substantive internship experience.
